Good evening! Grab a drink and get comfy for the next weekly round up of Flora and Custard's litter! I'm a bit late writing this so the babies have changed a lot since these photos were taken and it makes me both sad and happy at the same time. They're growing so quick but we're at a really nice stage right now so it's great fun.
Let's crack on shall we? So as a reminder, at the end of week one the kittens pigment had started coming through and they were starting to get some fuzz!

Day 8 - 30/03/20 |
They certainly looked like chunky fuzzy hippos at this stage! As you can tell from the photos, they were gradually starting to wriggle more because they never stayed lined up where I put them. Their colour was also coming in really nicely so we definitely knew we had three Topaz and three Russian Topaz.

Day 9 - 31/03/20 |
As if by magic overnight, they suddenly went from fuzzy hippos to velvety hippos. They were so soft and smooth and I could literally have sat there stroking them forever!

Day 10 - 01/04/20 |
By this stage my friends commented that "they looked less like beans" and were actually starting to look cute. I'd argue that they were always cute but I guess I'm ever so slightly biased...

Day 11 - 02/04/20 |
By day 11 I decided I could stop using a hot (though technically 'warm') water bottle to get them as they had hair now, though I still didn't keep them out for long. That little Topaz baby that shaped themselves to my hand just about killed me with cute!

Day 12 - 03/04/20 |
They were getting more furry day by day and my boyfriend was slowly becoming more willing to hold them as they were "less delicate". I absolutely love the way they all snuggle together and constantly try and push under each other to get cosy and warm.

Day 13 - 04/04/20 |
Day 13 I apparently didn't take many photos... Not much change really. Slightly hairier, slightly more wriggly. Oh tell a lie, there was one big thing. The girls nipples started showing so I officially knew what I'd been wondering the past few days - we only had two does. Initially I'd thought there were three of each (and Keera and Stacey agreed) but alas, we were fooled. Makes my job of choosing keepers slightly easier though!

Day 14 - 05/04/20 |
End of the week and what a lovely way to end it...we had our first peeper! My lovely little RT girl was the first to start opening her eyes and I was so incredibly happy. I couldn't wait for everyone to start opening their eyes and begin exploring the world! I also weighed everyone (and actually wrote it down!) so I could start properly tracking their weight. They were as follows:
Russian Topaz Doe - 38g
Russian Topaz Buck Purple - 35g
Russian Topaz Buck Blue - 38g
Topaz Doe - 35g
Topaz Buck Red - 36g
Topaz Buck Green - 35g
